Abstract

Sketchopolis was created in response to post-pandemic challenges faced by young children, many of whom struggled with sensory overwhelm, emotional regulation and limited memories of pre-COVID life. The series follows Max, a non-speaking, neurodivergent child who uses drawing and imagination to process difficult moments. This focus on the child’s inner world – rather than curriculum-driven objectives – helped the project gain international attention for its blend of creativity, neurodiversity and early childhood development.
